The Foundations of NLP
A building is only as stable as the foundation in which it rests. This portion, often overlooked by most NLP institutions will be covered in great detail so you can make sure that the empire of learning you acquire is resting on bedrock of ethics, understanding, and skill. You will learn:
3 Principles of NLP – These three principles, or ways of thinking whilst using NLP will enable you to maximize your effectiveness during a session and positively influence the way you experience the world around you, and perhaps even more importantly, the world within you. Who knows, you may even want to adopt these as principles to live by!
Presuppositions of NLP (Beliefs of Excellence) – These presuppositions ensure that the techniques you will be using in NLP are used with the client’s best interest in mind. Without these presuppositions, the techniques in NLP may not work as effectively as they could. By operating the skills in NLP with these presuppositions in mind, it increases your chance of success. In addition, they will give you an empowering viewpoint to interact with your clients in.

Skills of NLP
All of the techniques you will learn in NLP have a few common denominators. These are skills that you will use in every process so we take great care in making sure you have a firm understanding of these skills. A technique will do no good unless you have the underpinnings of a basic set of skills that make the techniques come to life.
Finely Tuned Observation Skills
No one ever really knows what someone else is thinking, but by fine tuning your ability to notice the most subtle shifts in a persons non verbal communication can sometime give you far greater insight than what they just say. You’ve heard of reading between the lines? Well in this section you learn how to hear what isn’t being said. See what most people never even notice and sense the most subtle shifts in your client’s emotional states.
Rapport Skills
Research shows that a person will make a judgment as to whether or not they like you in as little as 7 seconds. Maximize these 7 seconds by mastering specific processes that allow you to gain rapport with the person’s unconscious mind. The result? A feeling like they have known you forever! Haven’t you ever met someone and in just a few moments you felt as though you had known them all your life? That doesn’t happen by accident! You can replicate that process with anyone you choose.
With effective rapport building skills, you will learn the secrets to disagreeing with others whilst avoiding conflict and still maintaining that connection and openness.
Communication Skills
It’s been said that that the quality of your life is in direct reflection of the quality of your communication. Have you ever known someone that just seems to know the right way to phrase something when speaking to others? No matter who they meet, they seem to talk their language. Well, it isn’t magic, and it’s easy to do once you’ve discovered the 4 different communication styles that people use. Match your style with theirs and you will enter their world, and create more understanding, allowing you to communicate more effectively.
The Art of Language
With the word Linguistics in the title, you can bet that the way you structure your language is an important part of NLP. During this portion of the training, you’ll re-learn how to use your language to produce the most effective results.
Linguistic Presuppositions
After this session, you’ll never be able to listen to someone the same way again. Discover just how many things are actually said in a statement. By identifying the presuppositions in a person’s dialogue you’ll be able to predict the likelihood of a successful intervention, know when the client is ready to buy, discover whether your partner is being completely truthful and structure your language in such a specific way that presupposes the outcomes you desire.
Ambiguous Dialogue
The world famous Hypnotherapist, Milton Erickson discovered that by structuring your language in artfully vague ways would aid the person listening into a relaxed superficial hypnotic state. Milton used his language in 19 specific ways to create the effects of hypnosis in every day dialogue. Imagine being able to speak conversationally and have the people listening to you enter into a hypnotic trance. It’s possible once you’ve learned this.
Getting Specific
Have you ever asked something from someone? They were willing to help you, they delivered what you asked only for you to find that what they delivered wasn’t at all what you wanted? This is the result of not creating specific language to such a degree that you were able to produce the result you wanted. After you’ve studied this, you’ll learn 10 questions that will create greater specificity in you’re the person you are communicating with to help reduce those untimely misunderstandings.
Directionalized Language
Whoever controls the conversation controls the outcome. Learn the secrets of the greatest negotiators in the world. Learn how to shift from abstract levels of thought to greater specificity and master the process of lateral thinking. By the end of this session, you’ll know how to steer any conversation in the direction you desire.
The Agreement Frame
Have you ever wished you could get your partner to hear you in an argument? Have you ever thought that if you could just get them to listen… really listen to what you had to say, that they might have a change of heart? Well, we can’t guarantee they’ll change, but we can guarantee we can get them to listen. People have said that this process alone is worth the price of admission!
Skills of Change
This is where your adventure really starts to shift! Around every emotional bend you will learn a series of techniques that can help you to change the way you feel, change the way you think, and change the way you react to the pitfalls of life.
Emotional Anchoring
Let’s face it, sometimes the world can be a pretty rough place. So what systems do you have in place to keep your vessel anchored during stormy waters? Anchoring is a series of techniques you can use that will allow you to instantly ground yourself to positive emotions when life takes a turn for the worse. Bad things happen, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel bad. Imaging being able to literally install emotional buttons that you can push anytime you wish to feel any emotion you desire. Imagine being able to install these emotional buttons on others so that you can, at any given time, fire off these emotional states to keep your friends, family, & co-workers in a positive state when they hit the choppy waters of real life.
Sometimes we have negative anchors in our lives as well. Unique triggers like songs that make you think of that ex-love, looks from the boss that make you feel intimidated, vocal tones from partners and parents that make you feel small, projects that create apathy and procrastination. Well come to our training and we’ll show you several fool-proof ways to release these anchors forever so that you can sail anywhere you want to in life!
Identify Unconscious Patterns
It’s true, we are creatures of habit. But perhaps even more profound is to realize that these “habits” are actually specific psychological strategies your unconscious mind has created to make sure you do things consistently. We have strategies for buying, strategies for loving someone. We also have strategies for being depressed, angry, and indecisive. Learn how to identify what these patterns are in yourself and others.
You will actually learn two specific ways to elicit a strategy either from yourself or someone else. One way is through asking questions and pulling hidden cues from their answers, the other way is completely covert – you’ve probably heard the phrase, “they eyes are the gateway to the soul”. Well, most certainly the eyes are the key to identifying someone’s strategies. By noticing where a person looks when trying to answer a question can give you all the information you need to know their strategies in life.
Once you have learned how to elicit a strategy, you will then learn how to utilize that strategy with your language to trigger the individual into that action. For example, just imagine being able to identify a persons buying strategy, then triggering that strategy in them when they are considering your product. The results can be outstanding. And yes, a great deal of care and ethics must be used when practicing these techniques, and at a TRI NLP training, we teach all of our techniques with the assumption that they processes are being used for the good of the person you are working with – whether that be yourself or someone else.
Submodalities
Just imagine that inside you are thousands of safes. And inside each safe is a belief, and emotion, or a way of thinking. If you have the combination to these safes, then you can access those internal treasures anytime you wish.

Remember, we won’t have you forget the memory; we’ll just have you release the negative emotions from it so it no longer controls you, but instead, you are in control of the way you feel.
